Unscrew the locks from the doors !
Unscrew the doors themselves from their jambs !

In short, it attempts to chronicle my time as a Language Assistant while in France. Anybody considering this temporary, low paying job (below the nation's indicator for poverty, SMIC) – be it in a lycee, college, ecole, or IUFM – ought to at least have a solid account of what you might encounter. The record is, of course, incomplete, but one ought to be prepared to spend significant amounts of time with your new spouse, the French State and Social System.
